Abstract
The researcher investigated relevance of philosophy in the application of artificial intelligence in education in Imo State. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. Two research questions were used for the study. The researcher sampled 36 secondary school teachers from Owerri Municipal, Imo state for the study. The instrument used for the study applied four point likert scales. The rating scale was used to solicit information from the respondents. Data collected were analyzed with the use of arithmetic mean to answer the research questions. The findings of the study revealed that: promoting ethical and responsible use of AI, enhancing decision-making about AI tools, and encouraging human-AI collaboration are ways critical thinking aid in the application of artificial intelligence in education. Also, safeguard students‘ rights and privacy, maintaining human dignity and autonomy, and fostering long-term educational values are ways ethical decision making aid in the application of artificial intelligence in education.
