Abstract
This paper analysed education, politics and leadership and tried to explore their interrelations. This is against the backdrop that they are commendatory concepts and enjoy wide usage by members of the public being very central to governance of the day from home to the larger society. It was established that they are all mutually linked and are therefore needed to facilitate day to day functions in the society. Several abuses were observed to be perpetuated in their application; that is why we continue to experience vices in different forms in the society. It was recommended among others that functional education would help in neutralizing this tension, because if members of the populace become functionally literate, then they will be able to follow up and analyze government programmes. And if there are cases of abuse(s), they would rise to the occasion.
